Questions
Does ShotMatic send my code anywhere?
No. It runs locally, reads progress.json and git status, and opens apps already on your machine. No account, no server.
Do I pay extra for Claude or ChatGPT?
No. ShotMatic launches your own claude CLI or chatgpt.com and uses whatever plan you already have.
Can I open Claude in a folder that isn't a board?
Yes. 💬 Quick Chat lists every project plus folders you bookmark, and opens a new claude session there in Terminal — handy because Claude's own Recent list only keeps a few folders and can't pin any.
What do I need?
A Mac. Optional: the claude CLI for ✦, and git for ✓ and Push. The installer bundles its own Java runtime.
My repo has no progress.json.
The first-run wizard creates one from a template and gives you a prompt so your agent keeps it up to date.
Will it mess up my git history?
✓ commits only progress.overrides.json. Push shows the file list and message first. ShotMatic never rebases or force-pushes, and only pulls fast-forward during Sync Agents.
I work on a laptop and a desktop. Can I continue there?
Yes. ⇅ Sync Agents pulls your repos (fast-forward only), brings over the Claude sessions and boards from your other Mac, and shows everything before it pushes. Sessions travel on a shotmatic-sync branch of a private repo you choose, and are flagged if they contain anything that looks like a secret.
What about Windows?
The code is written but not yet tested or packaged. Join the waitlist below and your license will cover it.
